The Greater Church
The ELCA is part of the greater Church—the global body of Christ called to love, serve, and seek justice. The East Central Synod of Wisconsin (ECSW) is our local expression of that mission, connecting congregations, supporting leaders, and helping us live out our faith together. Through the ECSW, we’re part of something bigger—joined in Christ’s work across communities, generations, and the world.

Evangelical Lutheran Church In America
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 2.8 million members in more than 8,500 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region. We are what God has made us – people whom God has created by grace to live in union with Jesus Christ and has prepared to live faithful, fruitful lives by the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:8-10). In Jesus Christ, God has reconciled us to God and to each other. As we gather around word and sacraments, this life in Christ is what defines, shapes and guides us as a community of faith, the church.
East Central Synod Of Wisconsin
The East Central Synod of Wisconsin (ECSW) connects and supports congregations, leaders, and ministries across a wide region of Wisconsin. Rooted in the promises of baptism, ECSW believes the church is a place for real people who need God and each other. The synod is committed to justice, healing, and inclusion—especially in acknowledging harm done to Indigenous communities and working toward right relationships. ECSW’s work includes guiding churches through change, encouraging new leaders, supporting ministries in transition or renewal, promoting stewardship, and uplifting underrepresented voices in church leadership. At its core, ECSW exists to help us live out Christ’s love—together, for others, and for all creation.
